Happenings

SUNDAY JUNE 7

Parents and friends were on hand for our Worship service on Sunday.  It  began with our regular announcements and prayer requests, a short sermon from Pastor Marty and then Kelly Rogers, Director of Bible School, recognized those volunteers from all areas of the weekend school as well as the students.  Children participated in the VBS music  that included words and motions to help us know "we are not alone" and "Jesus seeks to save us".  Marcel, a talking monkey, showed children how to move away from being afraid, to knowing Jesus as a friend and a savior.  During VBS Marcel accepted Christ and demonstrated for children just how to do that when they hear God speaking to their hearts.  It was a humbling moment to see so many children ready to talk more about Jesus . After the HIM hotdog lunch everyone enjoyed getting wet feet and more. It was a great day to be together!  Thank you volunteers for all your participation.

Our offering was $3118 and the attendance was 105.

VBS POSITIVES- from Kelly Rogers

Tropical Trek VBS 2026 was a massive success this year!

Led by an incredible group of 23 volunteers for VBS and a church wide group that supported the Lunch and water games after service on Sunday, the 25 kids that
attended VBS had a wonderful time. Our kids learned valuable bible lessons about Jesus and his need to seek and save those who are lost. We talked about Baby Moses, Jesus and Zaccheus, Jesus rising from the grave after 3 days, and Jesus meeting Paul on the road after His rising. The kids learned songs, made crafts, played games both inside and out, and our VBS was visited by a special friend named Marcel who at the end of our time together accepted Christ into his heart. 4 other children from the 8-12 year old class also made the decision to follow Christ and were met at the alter rail by some of our adult volunteers to pray with them during his very important decision.

Sunday afternoon saw a really fantastic turn out for our Hot Dog lunch and water games wrap up party. Nearly 1000 water balloons were filled along with water cannons and a
sprinkler for the kids to play in. Adults joined in the water fun as well. The food was prepared by volunteers and there was plenty of it. A few parents inquired about Helena’s Sunday School and Children’s program and indicated they may be back on a Sunday Morning to give our church a try. EXCITING AND FANTASTIC NEWS!!!!

Helena Methodist Church VBS was successful because the entire church body got behind it in one way or another. From donating paper towel and TP rolls and brown
AMAZON  paper stuffing for crafting, to donating items and food needed for the sessions, to praying for a successful outcome, everyone helped make this first VBS in years one
to be remembered. Look out 2027…VBS is gonna be bigger and better next year!
